Reed Kawai Myers

Reed Myers is Principal of Myers Capital Hawaii, a family-owned mortgage banking company and direct private lender serving real estate investors, homeowners, and business owners nationwide. With more than two decades of experience in residential and commercial lending and real estate investing, Reed oversees the company’s lending operations, capital investments, and strategic growth initiatives. 
 
Prior to joining Myers Capital Hawaii, Reed was an investment analyst with experience in real estate development, retail positioning, and business acquisitions. He worked under the mentorship of the Chairman and CEO of a commercial real estate investment fund on the East Coast. As an investment analyst, he participated in a variety of real estate and business transactions, including land development, air rights development, retail repositioning projects, and business acquisitions. 
 
Reed is passionate about the mortgage industry and views it as the foundation that connects personal finance and real estate ownership. He believes that thoughtfully structured financing can help families build stability, create wealth, and achieve long-term financial goals. 
 
Throughout his career, Reed has been featured in publications including Pacific Business News, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Mortgage Professional America, and The Greenville News. He has contributed articles on real estate finance and mortgage lending, and appeared as a guest on radio programs and industry discussions. Reed also hosts educational webinars on private mortgage investing through Myers Investment Group. 
 
Born and raised in Honolulu, Reed attended Hanahauʻoli School before moving to the mainland. He earned an academic scholarship to the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in International Business and Management and a minor in Japanese. During his studies, he lived with a host family in Hikone, Japan, attended language courses at Shiga University, and volunteered at a local elementary school. 
 
Reed holds an active mortgage lending license and has previously been licensed in real estate and appraisal. He remains active in the community through organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and Honolulu Metro Rotary. 
 
Outside of work, Reed enjoys traveling, investing, entrepreneurship, and running. He once spent a year camping across more than 40 states and continues to enjoy exploring the Neighbor Islands, Japan, Iceland, and the Baltic region. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Holly, and their two sons, Cole and Harrison, in Honolulu.
